Roseau 14U 4; Park Rapids 0

The Roseau 14U got redemption when they won big against Park Rapids in the first of four games in Region play in Morris this past weekend. Scoring for Roseau were Bethany Tangen (2), Vanessa Weiland and Grace Olson with assists from Grace Olson (2) and Bethany Tangen. Roseau goaltender Bridget Slater came away with shutout number one.

Roseau 14U 10; Brainerd 0

The Roseau 14U overwhelmed Brainerd in the second game of Region play. Scoring for Roseau were Tori Bazey (2), Bethany Tangen (2), Vanessa Weiland, Grace Olson (3), Jena Storo, Sam McFarlane and assisting were Grace Olson (4), Bethany Tangen (2), Bailey Janzen, Michaela Dahl and Tori Bazey. This was shutout number two for Bridget Slater in the goal for Roseau.

The Roseau 14U came away with the win against Bemidji in the third game of Region play. Scoring for Roseau were C J Hulst, Grace Olson and Bethany Tangen and assisting were Grace Olson, Bethany Tangen and Marisa Nix. Bridget Slater made it shutout number three for Roseau.

Roseau 14U 2 ; East Grand Forks 1

The Roseau 14U beat a tough East Grand Forks team to claim Championship honors in Regions. Scoring for Roseau were Bethany Tangen and Grace Olson and assisting were C J Hulst and Bethany Tangen. Bridget Slater made 41 saves in the net for Roseau.

Sunday, 02/28/10

Roseau 14U 3; Park Rapids 4

The Roseau 14U took a loss against a tough Park Rapids team in Roseau. The score was tied 3 all until Rapids scored the game winner late in the 3rd period. Roseau will be looking for redemption when they will meet Rapids in the first game at Regions this coming weekend. Scoring for Roseau were Molly Pederson, Shelby Holter, Bethany Tangen and assisting were Mary Przekwas, Tressa Conell (2) and Grace Olson. Roseau outshot Rapids 3 to 1 but could not come out with the win. Bridget Slater and Emma Vatnsdal shared goalie duties for Roseau.

Saturday, 02/27/10 - 1st game

Roseau 14U 2; Fargo Lightning 14U 5

The Roseau 14U split in a double header against a tough Fargo Lightning team. Roseau tied it 2 all at the end of the second period when Fargo pulled ahead by one goal in the third period followed by an empty net goal and with just 1 second left they came away with the win. Scoring for Roseau were Tressa Connell, Mary Przekwas and Bethany Tangen had the assist. Bridget Slater was in the net for Roseau with 21 saves and the Fargo goaltender had a great game saving 22 shots.

Saturday, 02-27-10 - 2nd game

Roseau 14U 6; Fargo Lightning 14U 4

The Roseau 14U redeemed themselves in the second game against the Fargo Lightning. The score was tied 4 all at the end of the 3rd period and an 8:00 minute overtime did not net a goal for either team. Roseau's Mary Przekwas and Shelby Holter came up big scoring in a shootout with a little help from Roseau goaltender Bridget Slater who was able to shut Fargo down. Scoring in regulation play for Roseau were Tori Bazey, Bethany Tangen, Mary Przekwas, Michaela Dahl and assisting were Bethany Tangen and Tori Bazey. Goaltender Slater had 27 saves and the Fargo goaltender got a workout saving 43 shots.

Roseau 14U 2; Warroad 3

The Roseau 14U took two losses in the 14U Double Elimination District Tournament this past weekend in Bemidji losing to East Grand Forks and Warroad. They will regroup and look forward to meeting these teams again in the Regional Tournament in Morris on March 5th - 7th. Scoring for Roseau were Shelby Holter (2), Bethany Tangen Grace Olson, Tori Bazey and the assists went to Marisa Nix, Tori Bazey (2), Bethany Tangen and Grace Olson. Bridget Slater took both losses for Roseau.

Roseau 14U 5; Park Rapids 14U 2

The Roseau 14U went two for two this past weekend winning games at Park Rapids and Bemidji. Scoring for Roseau at the Park Rapids game were Shelby Holter (3), Tressa Connell and Molly Pederson and assists went to Tressa Connell and Mary Przekwas. The final Roseau goal came with just 1 second left of the game when Shelby Holter cleared the puck out of the Roseau end by banking it off the boards and to everyones surprise it rolled right in the empty net. Bridget Slater had 25 saves for Roseau.

Roseau 14U 5; Bemidji 14U 3

Scoring for Roseau at Bemidji were Bethany Tangen (2), Tressa Connell, Molly Pederson, Michaela Dahl and the assists went to CJ Hulst and Shelby Holter. With just 35 seconds left of the game and a six on five, Michaela Dahl cleared the puck out of the Roseau end by lifting it over everyone and it slid in the empty net. Roseau got outshot with Bridget racking up 32 saves to 17 Bemidji saves.

The Roseau 14U overwhelmed the Crookston 14U at the Memorial Arena this past weekend. Scoring for Roseau were Mary Przekwas (3), Bethany Tangen, Jena Storo (2), Shelby Holter (2), Vanessa Weiland (2), Tressa Connell and assists went to Tressa Connell (4), Grace Olson 920, Vanessa Weiland (2), Sam McFarlane (3), Jena Storo, Shelby Holter and Michaela Dahl. Emma Vatnsdal was in the net for Roseau.

The Roseau 14U clobbered the Sartell JV team in their first of four games in three days. Scoring for Roseau were Vanessa Weiland, Mary Przekwas (2), Marisa Nix (2), Shelby Holter, Bethany Tangen, Tressa Connell and the assists went to CJ Hulst, Tressa Connell, Shelby Holter, Molly Pederson, Grace Olson, Marisa Nix and Bailey Janzen. Roseau 14U 4; Moorhead 14U 1
The Roseau 14U made it four wins in a row with their win against Moorhead. Scoring for Roseau were Mary Przekwas (2), Michaela Dahl, Bethany Tangen and the assists went to Grace Olson and Tressa Connell. Bridget Slater was in the net for Roseau.

The Roseau 14U girls hockey team bring home 3rd place trophy in their bracket in St. Lukes Icebreaker Invitational in Duluth, where 82 girls teams participated.

Roseau 2; Minnetonka 0
The Roseau 14U met up with Minnetonka for the first time since losing in overtime in the State Championship last year and this time Roseau came out on top. Scoring for Roseau were Michaela Dahl and Bailey Janzen, both goals were unassisted. Bridget Slater made 22 saves and got the shutout for Roseau.

Wayzata 2; Roseau 1;
The Roseau 14U held off Wayzata until early in the 3rd period when they made the first goal of the game, however, Roseau answered with five minutes later to tie it up. After a 5 minute overtime three on three ended in a standoff, Roseau lost in a five player shoot out. The lone goal came from Grace Olson with the assists going to Bethany Tangen and Michaela Dahl. The Roseau goaltender Bridget Slater had 27 saves.

The Roseau 14U shutout Chaska in the 3rd place game in the Maroon bracket of the Duluth Icebreakers tournament. Mary Przekwas had the hat trick with the assists coming from Bailey Janzen, Tressa Connell and Michaela Dahl. Bridget Slater was in the net for Roseau.

Roseau 4; Thief River Falls JV 1
The Roseau 14U girls hockey team came away with the win against the Thief River Falls JV team. Scoring for Roseau were Mary Przekwas, Grace Olson, Bethany Tangen (2) and assisting were Shelby Holter, Tressa Connell, Grace Olson, Tori Bazey and Vanessa Weiland. Roseau goaltender Bridget Slater took 15 shots compared with a busy TRF goalie who kept their team in the game with 55 shots.

After losing the first game of the Bemidji U14 tournament, the stars (or pucks) aligned and the Roseau 14U girls hockey team played in the championship game by coming in the back door and bringing home the 2nd place trophy.

Cottage Grove 1, Roseau 0

The Roseau 14U lost to Cottage Grove in the first game of the Bemidji tournament with a goal with 27 seconds left of the third period when the Roseau goaltender made two quick saves only to lose out on a goal that bounced off a Cottage Grove players shin pad. Goaltender Bridget Slater had 30 saves for Roseau and the Cottage Grove goalie was busy with 28 saves.

In the second game of the Bemidji tournament, the Roseau 14U pummeled Lakeville with goals from Bethany Tangen, Vanessa Weiland (2), Michaela Dahl, Mary Przekwas (2), Tressa Connell, Tori Bazey (2), Shelby Holter and assisting were Michaela Dahl (2), Molly Pederson (2), Mary Przekwas (2), Bailey Janzen, CJ Hulst, Shelby Holter, Grace Olson and Marisa Nix. Bridget Slater and Emma Vatnsdal shared Roseau goaltender duties.

Roseau 3, Warroad 0

It was deja vu all over again with Roseau 14U hockey team and Warroad meeting up for the 5th time this season in the Bemidji tournament. Scoring for Roseau were Grace Olson (2), Shelby Holter and the one assist went to Bailey Janzen. Bridget Slater was the Roseau goaltender.

Eastman 2, Roseau 1

In the Championship game of the Bemidji Tournament, the Roseau 14U hockey team met up with a tough team from Canada. After Eastman scored in the first and second periods, Roseau's Molly Pederson scored on the power play in the third period assisted by Mary Przekwas. Bridget Slater made 22 saves for Roseau.

The third game of the Fargo Best of Times tournament had a familiar ring with Roseau and Warroad battling on the ice. Grace Olson had the hat trick and assisting were Bethany Tangen (3) and Tori Bazey. Bridget Slater was the Roseau goaltender.

Roseau 0; Winnipeg 3

Roseau squared off against a tough Winnipeg team in the Championship game of the Fargo Best of Times tournament. Winnipeg was coming off a big win against the Fargo Lightning 9 to 2. The game had an unbelievable 23 penalties called with Winnipeg receiving two bench minors and Roseau had an unusual chance to score with a penalty shot. The first period remained scoreless. Two Winnipeg goals came late in the 2nd period, one on a power play and the second with two Roseau players in the penalty box. The final was an empty net goal at the end of the game. Bridget Slater took 18 shots while in the net for Roseau while the Winnipeg goalie had 9 shots.

In their game, the Roseau 14U girls hockey team overwhelmed the Fergus Falls JV team. Scoring for Roseau were Molly Pederson, C J Hulst, Grace Olson (2), Marisa Nix, Shelby Holter (2), Tori Bazey (2) and Bethany Tangen with the assists going to Michaela Dahl, Marisa Nix, Tori Bazey (3), Grace Olson (5) and C J Hulst. The Roseau 14U girls hockey team took a quick start and never looked back in their game against East Grand Forks. Bridget Slater was the goaltender for Roseau.

The Roseau 14U girls hockey team came out on top in their third game in two days when they traveled to Crookston. The Roseau 14U girls hockey team left the ice after the 1st period down a goal to the Angels, but they redeemed themselves in the last two periods of the game. Scoring for Roseau were Grace Olson (2), Mary Przekwas, Shelby Holter (2) and Bethany Tangen and the assists went to Tori Bazey (2), Tressa Connell and Marisa Nix. Bridget Slater was in the net for Roseau.

Roseau 10; Brainerd 1

The Roseau 14U girls hockey team overpowered the Brainerd 14U team at Warroad. Scoring for Roseau were Mary Przekwas (3), Vanessa Weiland (2), Bethany Tangen, Molly Pederson (2), Bailey Janzen, Marisa Nix and assisting were Tressa Connell (2), Molly Pederson (2), Grace Olson (2), Jena Storo (2), Vanessa Weiland, Bethany Tangen, Sam McFarlane and CJ Hulst. Bridget Slater and Emma Vatnsdal shared goalie duties.

Roseau 2; Edina JV 2

The Roseau 14U girls hockey team came back from a 2 - 0 deficit to tie the Edina JV. Michaela Dahl finally put one on the board unassisted early in the third period to find the momentum. The tying goal came with just 48 seconds left of the game with Grace Olson putting one in the net assisted by Shelby Holter. Both goalies held off shots in the 5:00 minute overtime and each took three opponents in a shoot out. Bridget Slater got a workout stopping 23 shots to 12 shots on the Edina goalie.

Roseau 7; Thief River Falls JV 0

Scoring for Roseau were Mary Przekwas, Bethany Tangen, Tori Bazey, CJ Hulst, Grace Olson (2), Michaela Dahl and assisting were Bethany Tangen, Shelby Holter, Tori Bazey (2), Vanessa Weiland and CJ Hulst. Bridget Slater got the shut out.

Scoring for Roseau were Tressa Connell, Mary Przekwas, Grace Olson (2), and Mary Przekwas (2), Bethany Tangen (2), Tori Bazey (2) and CJ Hulst racked up assists.
