Roseau 10U Green 7 – Grand Forks Angels 0

The Roseau 10U Green girls had a Valentine’s day match-up with the Grand Forks Angels.  Both Morgan Helgeson and Lindsey Santl came up with hat tricks in the game.  Ellice Murphy also scored.  Getting assists today were Mackenzie Bergstrom, Camryn Hagen, Ellice Murphy, Morgan Helgeson(3) and Lindsey Santl (3).  Jenna Yon had 13 saves.

Roseau 10U Green  1 – Fargo Lightening  2

The Roseau 10U Green played a good Fargo Lightening team on Saturday afternoon. No scoring occurred in the 1^st period.  Fargo scored their 2 goals in the 2^nd.  Lindsey Santl scored Roseau Green’s only goal in the 2^nd also.  The Roseau Green had several chances to score in the 3^rd, but were never able to get it in between the pipes.  Jenna Yon had 12 saves.

Game 1  Roseau 10U Green 7 – Southdale Starts – 0
The Roseau 10U Green girls matched up with a young Southdale team for the first game in the tournament Friday night.  Kenzie Geise was moved up from 8U to be in the goal because Jenna Yon was sick.  Scoring Summary is:  Erin Leverington, 2 goals;  Camryn Hagen, 1 goal; Morgan Helgeson, 1 goal, 1 assist; Ellice Murphy, 1 goal; Reese Strand, 1 goal, 1 assist; Lindsey Santl, 1 goal, 2 assists; Lauren Johnson, 1 assist; Kacie Bjerk, 1 assist; Mackenzie Bergstrom, 1 assist;  Kenzie Giese had a shut out.

Sat. 1/30 - Sun. 31, 2010 – Moorhead Tournament

Game 1 – Roseau 10U Green 2 – West Fargo 5
The 10U Green team traveled to Moorhead the last weekend in January.   Their first opponent was a very good West Fargo team.  West Fargo came out in the 1^st period and scored 3 times.  We had zero shots on goal during the 1^st period.  In the second period Lindsey Santl  got our first goal off a pass from Morgan Helgeson.  West Fargo also scored in the 2^nd period.   Third period scoring came from Lindsey Santl, unassisted.  West Fargo’s only goal in the 3^rd period came from a penalty shot.  The coaches gave a educational session about what actions automatically gets a penalty shot – no throwing stick or stopping the puck in the crease with your hand.  10U Green had 10 shots on goal.  Jenna Yon had 9 saves.

Game 2 – Roseau 10 U 6 – Grand Rapids 7
Saturday evening the 10U girls played and exciting game against Grand Rapids.  Grand Rapids scored first in the 1^st period.  We answered with our own goal scored by Lindsey Santl off a pass from Morgan Helgeson.  We scored first in the 2^nd period to gain the lead.  Morgan Helgeson got the goal off a pass from Camryn Hagen.  Grand Rapids scored 2 goals.  Lindsey Santl scored with just over a minute left to tie the game.  Camryn Hagen assisted on the goal.  Grand Rapids came out in the 3^rd period and made four unanswered goals.  The girls dug deep and came up with 3 goals.  Morgan Helgeson from Lindsey Santl.  Morgan Helgeson from Lindsey Santl & Lauren Johnson.   Lindsey Santl from Morgan Helgeson.   At the very end we pulled our goalie to have six shooters on the ice.  We had several chances, but they never ended up in the goal.  10U Green had 11 shots on goal.  Jenna Yon had 28 saves.

Game 3 for 7^th place – Roseau 10U Green  5 – Grand Forks Angels – 1
The girls played an early morning Sunday game.  Scoring first was Ellice Murphy in the 1^st period.  No other scoring happened until the 3^rd period.  Grand Forks got their one and only goal.  Scoring for 10U green in the 3^rd were Reese Strand assisted by Erin Leverington; Ellice Murphy; Lindsey Santl; Morgan Helgeson assisted by Lindsey Santl.  10U Green had 30 shots on goal.  Jenna Yon had 7 saves. 

My Mom’s better than your Mom Contest.  Coaches got to choose a hockey mom during each game to try to hit a puck into the net.  They competed against a hockey mom from the opposing team.  Shooting for Roseau during the first game was Hockey Mom Tracy Bergstrom.  She hit the pipe, and bounced out.  The West Fargo’s Hockey Mom made it in the net.  Game 2’s Hockey Mom was Karyn Santl.  She missed the net by 2 feet.  The Grand Rapids Hockey Mom missed by only six inches so she was declared the winner.  Sunday morning’s Hockey Mom Michelle Hagen redeemed the Roseau Hockey Moms by getting the puck closer to the net then Grand Forks Hockey Mom.  Great job Michelle!!

Roseau 10U Green 2 – Roseau 10U White 4
The 10U girls each team had cancelled games against Bemidji Sunday so the coaches called a game of the two 10U teams.  The 10U White team took it to the 10U Green team at noon on Sunday at the Sports Center.  Scoring for the Green team were Morgan Helgeson and Lindsey Santl.  Congratulations to the White team for a great game!

Sunday, 1-17-10 

Roseau 10U Green 1 – Grand Rapids 1 Overtime
These two teams matched up again at noon on Sunday.  It ended with a score of 1-1 in overtime.  Morgan Helgeston scored Roseau’s lone goal unassisted.  Jenna Yon had 20 saves in the net. 
 

Saturday, 1-16-10 

Roseau 10U Green 5 – Grand Rapids 1
The Roseau 10U Green traveled to Grand Rapids for a couple weekend games.  The girls were up early Saturday morning to play Grand Rapids.  First period scoring included Mackenzie Bergstrom from the blue line.  Getting the second goal was Morgan Helgeson off a pass from Ellice Murphy.  Grand Rapids scored their lone goal in the 1^st period.  Scoring in the second period was Camryn Hagen and Lindsey Santl.  Both goals were scored off passes from Morgan Helgeson.   Scoring in the third period was Morgan Helgeson with a wrap around shot amongst several Grand Rapids player and an empty net.   

Roseau 10U Green 5 – Warroad 0
The Roseau 10U Green played against Warroad on a nice Sunday afternoon.  Scoring in the first period was Ellice Murphy unassisted.  2^nd period scoring included 2 goals from Lindsey Santl one unassisted and the other from Camryn Hagen/Morgan Helgeson.  Carmyn Hagen got a goal off a pass from Morgan Helgeson/Lindsey Santl.  The fifth goal came from Morgan Helgseon off a pass from Mackenzie Bergstrom.  Jenna Yon had 5 saves in a shut out effort. 

Fargo All City Girls International Hockey Classic Summary - Jan 1 - 3, 2010

 10U Green participated in the Fargo All City Girls International Hockey Classic January 1-3, 2010.  They played great, winning 3 of their 4 games.  

In their first game they played against the Fort Garry Flyers.  The 10U Green girls came out on top 6 – 0. Scoring summary is Lindsey Santl, 3 goals; Reese Strand, 1 goal; Camryn Hagen, 1 goal, 1 assist; Morgan Helgeson, 1 goal, 2 assists.  Jenna Yon had 11 saves.  10U green had 19 shots on goal.  Roseau native Robert Ludwig and his daughter Haley refereed this game. 

The girl’s second game was a barn burner against Anoka.  It was a cold morning!  Morgan Helgeson scored the first goal off a pass from Lindsey Santl.  Anoka scored 2 goals in the second period.  The 10U green were struggling with penalties but the girls kept digging and working hard.  The defensive ladies of Ellice Murphy, Mackenzie Bergstrom, and Lauren Johnson did a great job defending our goal.  In the third period Lindsey Santl scored to tie the game.  The girls dug deep and worked hard, but Anoka came up with the goal in overtime.  Jenna Yon had 16 saves.  10U green had 12 shots on goal.  Final score – 10U Green 2, Anoka 3. 

Game three was against the Roseau 10U White team.  Scoring summary is Lindsey Santl, 2 goals, 1 assist; Reese Strand, 1 goal; Morgan Helgeson, 1 goal; Ellice Murphy, 2 assist; Mackenzie Bergstrom, 1 assist.  Jenna Yon had 10 saves.  10U Green had 16 shots on goal.  Final score – 10U Green 4, 10U White 2. 

Game four was an early morning, nail biting game against Orono.  Orono scored first.  The line of Kacie Bjerk, Reese Strand and Erin Leverington worked hard to get the puck to Erin who scored our first goal.    Orono came back scored a second time in the first period.  The second period consisted of no scoring from either team though the 10U Green had several opportunities.  The Orono goalie was a big girl.    Our tying goal came in the 3^rd period from Morgan Helgeson.  The defense once again did a great job and held our blue line.  Scoring in overtime was Lindsey Santl who received a nice pass from Morgan Helgeson.  Jenna Yon had 6 saves.  Final Score – 10U Green 3, Orono 2. 

Thanks to Coach Murphy and Coach Leverington for a great weekend.  A special thanks to Lew Erickson for supporting a pizza party for the girls on Friday night. 

10U Green 6 – Grand Rapids 4
The 10U Green girls played an exciting game against Grand Rapids at noon on Sunday at the North Rink.  Most of the scoring happened in the 1^st period.  Erin Leverington assisted by Kacie Bjerk got the first goal and Morgan Helgeson followed with a hat trick.  Lindsey Santl assisted, 2 goals unassisted, one short-handed.    Grand Rapids scored once.  During the 2^nd period the girls holiday sugar high came to an end.  Grand Rapids scored twice.  Morgan Helgeson scored unassisted.   Grand Rapids came out in the 3^rd period and scored almost immediately making the score 4-5.  The girls were able to hold them even when they pulled their goalie with under a minute to play.  Morgan Helgson got a break away to get an empty net goal at the buzzer.  Jenna Yon saved 23 shots.  10U Green had 16 shots on goal.

10U Green 7 – Warroad 0
Scoring in the 1^st period was Morgan Helgeson from Lindsey Santl; Erin Leverington unassisted; and   Reese Strand from Erin Leverington.  2^nd period scoring was Erin Leverington and Morgan Helgeson both unassisted.  3^rd period scoring was Morgan Helgeson from Reese Strand and Lindsey Santl from Morgan Helgeson.  Jenna Yon had 3 saves.  The Roseau 10U girls had 20 shots on goal. 

Saturday, 12-19-09

10U Green 4 – EGF 3 – overtime
Reese Strand was moved up from 8U to fill in for Hannah Nelson who is injured.  EGF scored the only goal in the 1^st period.  Scoring for Roseau in the 2^nd period to tie it up was Ellice Murphy, unassisted and shorthanded.  EGF responded with 2 more goals.  Roseau’s Erin Leverington  got our 2^nd goal, Kacie Bjerk assisted.  Morgan Helgeson tied the game in the 3^rd period with 3:39 seconds left.  In overtime with 34.7 seconds left Erin Leverington scored the game winner with an assist from Morgan Helgeson & Lindsey Santl.  Jenna Yon had 17 saves.

10U Green 10 - Bemidji 3

The 10U Green girls had a great game against Bemidji on Saturday afternoon.  Bemidji scored first in the first period but the Roseau girls answered with 2 goals in the 1st; 3 goals in the 2nd and 5 goals in the 3rd.  Jenna Yon didn't let any more goals in after the first until the middle of the 3rd period.  Scoring in the first period were Ellice Murphy (unassisted) and Erin Leverington, assisted by Mackenzie Bergstrom.   Second period scoring included Lindsey Santl from Lauren Johnson; Morgan Helgeson (unassisted); and Morgan Helgeson from Lindsey Santl.  Third period scoring included Lindsey Santl from Morgan Helgeson, Camryn Hagen & Ellice Murphy; Lindsey Santl from Camryn Hagen & Erin Leverington; Mackenzie Bergstrom from Erin Leverington & Kacie Bjerk;  Lindsey Santl & Mackenzie Bergstrom each had an unassisted goal. 

10U Green 13 - Crookston 0

The 10U Green girls played a young Crookston team.  Scoring for 10U green included Camryn Hagen, 1 goal – 1 assist; Kacie Bjerk, 1 goal – 3 assists; Lindsey Santl, 2 goals – 3 assists; Erin Leverington 2 goals – 1 assist; Morgan Helgeson, 2 goals – 3 assists; Mackenzie Bergstrom, 3 goals; Hannah Nelson, 1 goal; Lauren Johnson 1 goal & Ellice Murphy, 1 assist.  Jenna Yon had a shut out.
